So in a video game when you spawn/respawn, I’ve always wondered what it must look like to the other players. I know in some games you just sort of appear out of thin air, others have an animation. I must admit that I’ve never taken the time during a match of Overwatch to sit in the spawn room and see what happens.
So that’s a good thing, because I sort of feel that it would look something like this image; bright lights, cool sound effects while you hear the catch phrase “Soldier 76 reporting for duty!”
I captured this image at the recent comic-con, C2E2 in Chicago, featuring the incredibly talented and versatile cosplayer Hailey S Cosplay. It was my first time working with her and I was completely floored by her ability not only as a cosplayer, but her experience as a model. It’s so refreshing to be able to just focus on the lighting and the photography, while most of the pose and looks are created by the model and her talent. I tossed this pose in at the end, as the vision of her spawning into the game suddenly took over my imagination.
More Overwatch imagery and other cosplay that I captured at the con, coming or spawning in soon!
(When I sit down to edit in Photoshop, I’m going to start saying, “Reality Reimagined reporting for duty!”)
(on second thought – no.)
